I have accepted an invitaion from RichTech to attend the first meeting of the Technology Associations Roundtable on Monday January 10.
The intent of the meeting is for the tech community groups, associations, user groups, etc. to gain a greater awareness of each other and of each group's purpose and goals.
RichTech is in the process of adding a webpage to its website which will provide a link to each of you and a brief description of who you serve.

Join the newly formed Richmond Oracle/Sun User Group and Tom Kyte as we discuss Oracle Exadata. Learn how today's challenges of ever-increasing data volume, number of servers and storage, and rising complexity of applications can be addressed.
Oracle invited the leaders of the East Coast Oracle technology user groups to a meeting on Tuesday July 20th in Reston, VA.
I attended the all-day meeting and met up with the NOVA and NY JUG leaders.
With the acquisition Sun completed Oracle is making strides to incorporate the Java user groups into their product, tool and technology user groups. We (JUGs) pressed Oracle to provide more information regarding the roadmap of the Java technology stack.
