The Richmond Java User Group exists to unite regional Java-oriented people and organizations.
Our primary goal has always been to be the provider of a focal point to the Java community, to help us educate each other about the practical aspects of Java software development, practices, processes, industry trends, etc.
One of my goals is to facilitate local presenters, encourage them to share with the group the things they are doing and how the did it. As a group, we have been very good about this in the past and we have also been great at bringing in excellent speakers from afar. In many ways the outside presenters set a rather high bar of presentation cohesion, depth of knowledge, etc. I would like to encourage us all to have to a more realistic expectation, likened to the brown-bag lunchtime get-together --"I'm not an expert, but... here's what we've been doing, its pretty cool, here's how we did it, and if you're interested, here's where you might like to start".
I am hopeful that this site can provide a platform to support these activities.
Please participate in making this site and this group serve your needs.
